The cultural significance of material objects, language, and daily habits is constantly in flux in our society. Lost and Found explores how mundane objects are elevated to hold a significance in our lives- and, just as quickly, discarded. Likewise, true cultural indicators such as language and ritual are evaporating as our society becomes more globally oriented in a digital age. The source material is from ephemera, scrap books, flea market finds, discarded objects, and collections of everyday objects.

Charcoal has a physicality and immediacy that is unlike any other medium. Farrington draws upon the rich tones of charcoal to create finished works with a limited color palette, often working on top of acrylic transfers or underpainting to create visual interest and a fractured since of implied history.
